HOW DOES IT WORK
The AL-KO ESC system is engineered to operate when it identifies critical driving situations such as a build-up of two small swings, or one large, sudden lateral movement.
In an emergency avoidance manoeuvre such as suddenly swerving to avoid a car or animal on the road ahead, you need total control as quickly as possible.
In this situation, AL-KO ESC brakes all wheels on the caravan simultaneously as soon as a dangerous sideways movement is detected by the lateral acceleration sensors inside the AL-KO ESC unit.
The caravan brakes are held on to wipe off speed and stopping distance in the shortest possible time to allow the driver to maintain control.
This maintains the line and stability of the car and caravan, allowing you to perform and avoidance manoeuvre. Your car and caravan operate as one, you avoid jack-knifing and you’re back on your side of the road with a potential disaster behind you.
In general towing conditions, the AL-KO ESC system is engineered to operate when it identifies a critical driving situation where you could lose control – such as a build-up of two small swings, or one large, sudden lateral movement.
